No Classes Labour Day Weekend
This term’s work focuses on applying your skills to the audition process. There will be a public performance at the end of this term. A series of self-devised individual presentations will showcase your skills to an invited audience.
Course Code: SBST1
| Acting | Skill development in all areas of acting designed to extend your range and stamina. In this term we will work on monologue presentations that will build audition repertoire focussed towards the requirements of international theatre/music theatre courses. |
| Singing | Developing and extending your range and capability in many different areas of music theatre styles. This term we will work on preparing songs for auditions that fulfil the requirements for the international theatre and music theatre courses. |
| Spoken Voice | Developing and extending your spoken vocal technique. Applying your vocal discoveries to text and integrating your spoken voice with your singing voice and acting techniques. |
| Body | Developing your core strength and physical range to encourage a really dedicated approach to regular exercise to assist and strengthen your performance techniques. |
Acting is a discipline that offers the opportunity to continue a journey of life long learning. Building a really clear set of work practices supported by a work ethic that encourages you to practice every day will give you the best possible chance of fulfilling your goals. Dream it – Do it.
Please Note: Some students may require good quality dvd’s of monologues and songs for audition purposes. In this term we can arrange for you to negotiate with professional film makers to provide good quality audition recordings. These sessions are separate from the school curriculum and will incur an extra cost.
